Thanks (?) for making me feel antique, having driven several of the "antique" tractors as a kid!

I LOVE tractor parades. Being in Des Moines, the only ones I get to see are at the Iowa State Fairgrounds during the Fair. They are at random times, so you never know when you will catch one. But if my daughter (my Fair Partner in Crime) or I spy that parade, we yell "Tractor Parade," and run to a spot where we can get a good view. Maybe we can take a road trip sometime to see this. Thanks for the story and photos!

I’m not sure that there’s anything more Iowa than a tractor-cade. I grew up with IH 1066, 1486, and 1586. Small tractors today. Also used a lot of JD A’s and B’s and Farmall H’s and M’s for smaller tasks. My dad grew up with horses and F20’s, I believe.

Jeff— delightful piece. We’re there any Case tractors? I learned about internal combustion engines from taking our Case SC apart back in the 50s. Most of my Seymour classmates were either Green or Red loyalists.

Terrific piece. I wish they would bring back the square dancing tractors.
