Declining enrollment is never good news for school budgets and these projections are worse that what the state has been reporting. Immigrants have been a boon to enrollment in many communities, but as ICE continues its war on the people of this nation, that could change as well.

Note that the state of Iowa is now supporting three systems, public schools, private religious schools, and charter schools. The latter two are feasting at the public trough without accountability to the public.

Farm economy is not doing well. Not a good omen for the future of education in Iowa!

Don’t leave out rising home schooling exemptions which we’ll likely soon be subsidizing too.
